ABOUT ME/CONTACT/SHOP

I am a storyteller, writer, artist and the creator of the comic Gertie XOXO. I create work using traditional and digital media. I use ink (pens, India ink, acrylic ink, watercolor ink) to make drawings and touch them up digitally. 

Being half White, half Latina, I draw from both modern pop culture and the Latino tradition for my subjects. Among my influences are Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Yuko Higuchi, Beatrix Potter, Louis Wain, Francis Ford Coppola, David Lynch, Bjork, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, The Cure, Cocteau Twins, and Anton Corbijn.

I like to explore themes of cultural identity, natural beauty, surrealism, and modernity in my work while merging it with ancient styles like ink wash painting or sumi-e and line drawing.
